So, you have a purse, clutch, evening bag, or other type of handbag and you'd like to sell it on eBay. This guide will give you a few do's and don'ts to help you sell your handbag easily and successfully. Hundreds of purses are listed each day, and many sell for the opening bid. This guide is to help you garner bids and get what your purse is worth!

DESCRIBING YOUR HANDBAG...

You've probably already figured out that you will need to describe the material that the purse is made out of, but you will also need to describe the material, if any, that lines the bag. Take great care to be accurate or it will bite you in the backside later. If there is a pocket, describe it as a zippered or open pocket. Describe any defects or mars INSIDE and OUTSIDE, paying close attention to the strap or handle as well. Inspect and describe the bottom of the bag too. Check inside the pockets and add that info as well.

SIZE MATTERS...

Once you have finished with the physical look of your purse, get out your trusty tape measure. In a separate paragraph, list the measurement of the purse side to side. If the purse tapers a great deal, if it is much wider at the bottom than it is at the top, be sure to include both measurements. Now, measure the purse from top to bottom. Always measure and include the words 'at the widest point' because this is specifically what buyers are looking for in both height and width. If the purse is leather, be sure to include a measurement for front to back, which is done by measuring the bottom at the wides...
